The Combat Academy
The Combat Academy, also known as Equipe TCA, is a premier martial arts academy in Hereford offering comprehensive training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, and K1 kickboxing. The gym caters to a diverse range of students, from Tiny Taz classes for primary school age children to women-only classes and a Masters class for students over 40, as well as private 1:1 or small group sessions. The academy is registered with the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) and maintains strong connections to the global BJJ community. The Combat Academy prides itself on providing a safe and effective training environment where students can achieve multiple goals: getting and staying fit, having fun, making new friends, meeting new challenges, improving confidence, learning new skills, mastering self-defence, and achieving their personal goals. The academy offers flexible membership options including weekly attendance plans, unlimited training, family packages, student discounts, and special rates for veterans and emergency services personnel. The gym is led by Head Coach Dave Coles, a 4th degree BJJ black belt under Braulio Estima (awarded July 2025), who brings over three decades of martial arts experience. Dave is also a Judo 5th Dan black belt and was the 1999 World Masters Judo Champion. He is a certified IBJJF referee who has officiated at the European Championships and other major events. Additional coaching staff includes Patrick Baker, a 2nd degree BJJ black belt and 2016 IBJJF European Champion, along with instructors Dean Bradbury and Nicky Taylor.

Game Fight UK is a Leeds BJJ gym that teaches Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, MMA, Muay Thai, submission wrestling and self defence. We are proud to be a part of the fastest growing worldwide Brazillian Jiu Jitsu organisation. The global Game Fight BJJ organisation is run by Master Vinicius Amaral based in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. Mabsy “Tiozinho” Alam is the first UK representative for Game Fight and is a BJJ Black Belt under Master Vinicius Amaral since 2013. Being the first of Master Amaral’s students to achieve a BJJ Black belt out of South America.
