Triangle Choke System | Pull Guard, Foot Sweep, and 3 Escapes

Triangle Choke System | Pull Guard, Foot Sweep, and 3 Escapes

From 10th Planet Colorado Springs

June 22, 2026

This video covers a full triangle choke lesson, starting with the entry and finishing with multiple strong escapes.

Coach starts from standing with mercy-style grips, using an arm drag and foot sweep to create the opening, then pulling guard straight into the triangle choke.

From there, the rest of class focuses on escaping the triangle. The first escape is posturing, controlling double unders on the legs, and landing in side control. The second escape is sitting back, putting the legs into the armpits or across the belly, then posturing into a leg lock finish. The last escape covers the worst-case triangle position and turning it into reverse mount.

If you want both the triangle entry and the practical escapes in one video, this is a strong one to study.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
