Leandro Lo's jiu-jitsu left behind a legacy that no title can fully measure. Eight World Championship gold medals across five different weight categories, eight Pan American titles, and a guard passing game so creative and precise that coach John Danaher called him "unquestionably one of the greatest jiu-jitsu athletes of his generation." On August 7, 2022, the BJJ world lost Leandro Lo at 33 years old. This video is a recording of one of his last seminars, taught right here at Athlas Training Team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Leandro Lo grew up in the east side of São Paulo and began training at 14 through a social program created by coach Cícero Costha. From those early years in a community project to eight world titles and induction into the IBJJF Hall of Fame, his entire career was built on technique, intelligence, and a guard game that no one could fully solve. The seminar captured in this video covers his guard passing system in detail — lasso control, X guard, 50/50, and the grip-breaking mechanics that made him impossible to stop at the highest level of competition.
