I couldn't believe my eyes when I dug into this story. A former Chinese military general managed to purchase 200,000 acres of land right next to Laughlin Air Force Base under the guise of a wind farm project. It highlights some serious gaps in our national oversight when a high-ranking foreign official can just acquire massive swaths of strategic territory without anyone in Washington batting an eye. This situation really makes you question what else is slipping through the cracks regarding land ownership and national security.
