I spent a long time thinking that wanting to help people and wanting to make a good living were two different things. But the reality is that without sales, you can't keep your doors open to help anyone. Rent, insurance, and payroll don't care about your good intentions. Transitioning from the mindset of just wanting to help to actually running a profitable business was the hardest shift I ever made, and it required embracing the idea that selling is not a dirty word, but a survival skill.
