DARUMA DOJO - TECH THRUS - FINISH WITH ARM BAR - BJJ FOR BEGINNERS
From Daruma Dojo
The armbar is one of the first submissions every Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu beginner should understand.
But learning the finish is only part of the lesson.
A successful armbar depends on controlling the position well enough to isolate the arm, manage your opponent’s posture and prevent them from easily pulling the elbow back into a strong defensive position.
For beginners, this is an important introduction to how submissions actually develop in Jiu-Jitsu.
You don’t simply grab an arm and attack it.
You establish control, isolate the limb and create the conditions that allow the submission to work.
Learn the position first. Understand the control. Then finish with the armbar.
