Part 8 -"Have you tried yoga?"

Sarah has.

In fact, when she was looking for a way to switch off and quieten a busy mind, yoga seemed like the obvious answer.

The problem?

It gave her even more time to think.

What she eventually discovered was that the best way to clear her head wasn't slowing down—it was focusing completely on something else.

For Sarah, that was martial arts.

The techniques, the movement, the problem-solving, and the need to stay present meant there simply wasn't room for everything else racing through her mind.

In this clip, Sarah explains why martial arts became her version of mindfulness and how it helped her find an hour of peace in a busy week.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
