Saddle Entries and Ankle Locks @ The Battle of the Branches
From High Noon BJJ Team
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast! Coach Tim participated in the inaugural Battle of the Branches quintet held at The Compound this past Veteran's Day. It was an excellent day on the mats filled with camaraderie, good-natured rivalry, fantastic fights, and recognition of everything our servicemembers have done for their country. 🇺🇲
In the final bout - which included a tough, all black belt squad of Marines - Coach Tim was able to adapt to the ruleset, which did not allow heel hooks, by using the saddle position to secure an ankle lock and aoki lock submission, respectively, in two of his three bouts. All told, Team Army was able to pull off the victory and bring home the inaugural title. Go Army!
