Monkey/Gorilla Guard Pass Drill

Monkey/Gorilla Guard Pass Drill

From Silanoe Martial Arts

April 8, 2020

This solo drill exercise helps with guard passing in particular with your footwork. It helps with stability and mobility. Needed is a medicine ball or other available (household) aids such as for instance a bucket that will mimic a high and stable surface to place the hand on while spinning/rotating from side to side. Set the time for 1:30 min and see how many repetitions you can do. Note: always practice under supervision.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
