About

Benoit has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2003 and received his black belt in 2014 from Fabio Holanda, a pioneer of BJJ in Canada. He is the head instructor and co-founder of Black Line Jiu-Jitsu (founded in 2013 with Francis Gareau-Montsion). His journey includes numerous training trips to Brazil since 2007, training at prestigious academies including Murilo Bustamante, Rocian Gracie Jr, and Helvecio Penna. He established an affiliation between Black Line and Liberta academy in São Paulo, strengthening international BJJ connections. He is also an associate professor at the School of Social Work at UQAM, specializing in violence research and community organization.
