About

Professor Noa Moke was born and raised in Kauai, Hawaii. He started jiu jitsu in 2000 at age 13 under Bruno Ewald (black belt under Royler Gracie) at Longman Jiu Jitsu. He trained there for 10 years until brown belt. In 2012 he received his black belt with the blessing of 6th-degree black belt Nelson Montero from Gracie Barra Kauai - Team Powerhouse. Noa is now under the guidance of Andre Galvao and the Atos association. Jiu jitsu was a refuge for Noa growing up, teaching him discipline, motivation, and self-confidence. He has competed in over 100 matches across Hawaii, Brazil, Washington, Oregon, and California. In 2005 he lived in Brazil and trained under Daniel Moraes (6-time World Champion) at the original Gracie Humaita and Iate Clube Jardim Guanabara. He began instructing in 2006 and moved to Washington in 2020 to open Legend Jiu Jitsu Academy. 'Legend' is Noa's local nickname on Kauai, given by his professor and mentor Jared Espina.
