## Overview

**Name:** Pierre-Olivier Leclerc

**Date of Birth:** May 01, 1993 (age 33)

## Bio

A product of Longueuil, Québec, and a protégé of Firas Zahabi at TriStar, Pierre-Olivier Leclerc was swept into the heel hook revolution after Eddie Cummings and Gary Tonon visited the gym in 2015, cementing a leg-lock focus alongside training partners Oliver Taza and Ethan Crelinsten. Regular pilgrimages to John Danaher’s Blue Basement and later to the B-Team in Austin shaped his no-gi game, where he competed against black belts as early as purple, notably at ADCC Trials and Kasai. Promoted to black belt by Zahabi in January 2023, Leclerc remains a TriStar representative whose competitive record is defined almost entirely outside the gi.
