About
João Raphael Vasconcellos, known as "Raphael Simpson," received his black belt in 2004 from Professor Gustavo Muggiati (Gutty). He is a 2001 World Jiu-Jitsu Champion with over 20 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After earning his black belt, he led training at Gracie Curitiba academy until 2007, then focused on preparing MMA athletes, including Pride and UFC champion Maurício "Shogun" Rua. In 2010, he moved to the United States, teaching at Gracie Barra Orlando and later in Minneapolis. He returned to Curitiba in 2013 and founded DNA Jiu-Jitsu School in 2015.
