## Bio

A foundational figure in Paraná’s BJJ expansion, Sebastian Lalli began his grappling in 1995 at Curitiba’s Academia Guardian under Penão before transitioning to Carlos Lima, a Carlson Gracie and De La Riva lineage black belt who promoted him in 2002. Lalli started coaching as a purple belt in Campo Largo and founded Equipe 1 in 2003, building it into a major regional academy. In 2006 he aligned with Leonardo Vieira, becoming a core founder of Checkmat when the team split from Brasa, and under Leozinho’s guidance he reached his peak competitive results.
