Getting Stacked During an Armbar? Use This Counter! #BJJ #JiuJitsu #Armbar #friscotx

Getting stacked is one of the most common defenses you'll face when attacking an armbar from closed guard but it doesn't have to end your submission. In this quick BJJ lesson, Professor Matthew Jones demonstrates an effective counter that uses timing, leverage, and control to reverse your opponent's pressure and put them on their back, allowing you to finish the armbar. Whether you're a white belt learning the fundamentals or an experienced grappler looking to sharpen your submissions, this technique is a valuable addition to your closed guard game. Drill it, apply it during live rolls, and make your armbar attacks much harder to defend.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
