How To Do a Rolling Arm Bar After a Waiter Sweep #jiujitsu #armbar #friscotx

From Diamondback Jiu-Jitsu

What happens after you hit a waiter sweep and your opponent immediately tries to push you back down with their arm extended into your chest? That pressure can give you the opening for a rolling arm bar.

Professor Matthew Jones demonstrates how to transition from the waiter sweep into the arm bar when your opponent posts a hand on your chest. Watch how he uses his hand to stop his momentum, gets his knee deep past the arm, turns onto his side, and uses his hip movement to finish the submission. He also explains why turning your head can make the rotation smoother and why your opponent’s reaction matters.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
