How To Do A Basic Triangle Choke From Guard #jiujitsu #trianglechoke #friscotx

The triangle choke is one of the most important submissions to learn from guard, but the small details can make a big difference.

Professor Matthew Jones demonstrates how to set up and finish a basic triangle choke from closed guard. Learn how to move your opponent’s arm out of the way, use your foot on the hip to create space, bring your legs into position, control the head and shin, and turn your body to get the right angle. He also shows why you want your opponent’s neck in the crook of your knee instead of locking the triangle over your calf.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
