Seated guard Jiu-Jitsu solo drill

From Silanoe Martial Arts

April 2, 2020

A seated guard solo drill. This specific exercise mimics a battle for grips from the seat guard. A guard player needs to often reach above one’s own head which can be a challenge due to fatigue. Needed for this solo drill is a 20 lbs. weight or have a great assistant as seen in the video. Set the timer for 1 minute and see how many reps you can do. Note: always practice under supervision.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
